I’m now posting at my new/old blog now. Au revoir WordPress, nice knowing you! (Actually, not really, I like Blogger much better which is why I’ve moved back.)
Hope to see you over there!

Little things that are currently making me happy:
Patterns, dreams, shapes and words.

The past week has been a bit of a blur.
On the bright side – my sister had a baby (boy!) and I am excited to ‘be an auntie again’. I’m going to meet my new nephew, halfway across the country, in just a few days!

Lately I’ve been on a strawberry kick. They just taste like summer to me. My hubby hates them because of the tiny seeds, but that’s actually one of the things I like most about them.
I’m determined to visit a local u-pick strawberry patch this year.

Check out that giant berry! Yum.
I had a basket of them hiding in the back of my fridge that I forgot about for a couple days, so they were a bit too soft for my taste… BUT! I recently came across this recipe for a “Strawberry Balsamic (Gin) Spritz” and I knew this was the perfect opportunity to make it.

Something about the flavour combination of the sweet strawberries and tart/tangy balsamic vinegar made it SO good.
Plus, the Strawberry Balsamic Syrup (recipe from here) was super easy to make! I’ll definitely be making it again.

It made about 1.75 cups of syrup so I also used it just mixed with some soda water for a nice refreshing drink on those nights where I didn’t necessarily want a cocktail (which, let’s face it, isn’t all that often ;)
Cheers!
It’s come to my attention that I haven’t even shared some of my own jewellery that I’ve been creating lately (for shame)! So without further ado…
Some are already up in the shop, some will be there soon, some have already been spoken for. Since I tend to make mostly one-of-a-kind items, once in a while they get snapped up before they even reach my shop because I always post my newest creations on my jewellery Facebook page first, so feel free to “Like” me over there: www.facebook.com/KruseSuzanne
Happy Monday!
I’ve decided to have a gigantic sale on most of my Stella & Dot sample pieces… you can check out all items in my Facebook album here – if interested in great deals on great jewellery!

I have to admit – I didn’t put too much thought into these next two pages. Quite frankly, my brain has been pretty fried lately, so I basically just whipped these up two nights ago. It’s funny, how things that are good for your mental/emotional well-being always seem to take the least priority when it comes to dealing with life’s problems. Shouldn’t it be the other way around?

This page was supposed to be basically done as a comic strip of drawings of what I did in a day – but since my drawing skills are, as you can see, non-existent – I just made it into some bad doodles of a great day I had, last fall. The other day my co-workers and I were having a random conversation about french macarons, and I remembered the nice little afternoon I spent with myself, shortly after my birthday last year, and I had the BEST MACARON EVER – you can see what it looks like in real life, here, since my doodle does it no justice. I’m pretty easy to please – just give me time to sleep in, a pumpkin spice latte (free doesn’t hurt either), a french macaron, an empty park bench and a menthol Marlboro and I’m one happy camper. (For the record, I don’t consider myself a smoker, I just enjoy the odd one on special occasions.)

This page was pretty straight forward – just a picture framed within another picture. It was the only somewhat-recent photo I had printed out of Brian and I – a friend recently had some prints made from a birthday bowling party (hence the glow-necklaces) that we went to over a year ago, and gave me a copy of this photo. I happened to just like the colours in this catalogue page and thought they went well together – I only realized half-way through taping it all down that it looked a little pervy (a picture of us on top of a picture of a bed and the words “love birds” ;) Oh well!
